Have I fallen down the rabbit hole? Was Obama really awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Is it possible that maybe we misunderstood and it is actually the peas prize for the great vegetables he grew in the White House garden. Even then I would have questions because I thought the garden didn't work out so well. Maybe Honorable mention for the Okra but first place for peas. Really?

When Obama said not a single dime of new taxes on the middle class he was telling the truth because when he is done there will be no middle class. It is a little tough to be middle class when you are unemployeed.

I realized last night why my wife's dog loves to watch Rachel Madcow Maddow. He lives to play fetch with a little squeaky soccer ball. While I watch the TV he brings me the ball and I will sit there holding it, but as soon as oberman or maddow start to talk I can not resist the urge to throw the ball at the TV. Of course it bounces across the room and he runs and gets it and brings it back to me. He gets to play fetch a whole lot more while I watch these folks than he does at any other time of the day. He certainly loves Madcow's show more than anything else on TV. When you combine this with the fact that all he ever does is lay around the house and wait for someone to feed him or throw the ball and he has never worked a day in his life and depends on the rest of us for all of the necessities of life, well he is obviously a communist or at least a Liberal.

If he wasn't so good at making me laugh he would have no redeeming qualities what so ever (kind of like Barney Frank). But in his defense his brain is about the size of a pecan (again kinda of like Barney Frank).

On the other hand maybe I should give him break, I mean really, unemployment in the dog world is at about 99.8% and he has no special training. At least a Sheep Dog can herd sheep and a German Shepard can defend your home, but it is tough out there for a Yorkshire terrier. His only natural skill is as a mouser and the mouse trap industry has just flat put him out of work, although he does do a little freelance work with squirrels and the occasional opossum.

But on second thought maybe he is a Republican, because while he does not have the ability to mow the grass, he has discovered that he can best pay his own way by taking on the job of constantly keeping me supplied with the soccer ball so that I don't shoot the TV. So I guess that he has probably saved me thousands of dollars in TV sets. And whats more he is very good at his job because he has the soccer ball back in my hand before I can even finish saying "is she really that stupid".

Bottom line my wife's dog actually goes to work everyday for nothing more than room and board and an occasional atta boy. Well what do you know, my wife's dog is NOT a communist but is actually an entrepreneur. He found a niche and filled it in order to provide for his own existence and I am all the more richer because of it.

Man, I really love that dog.

Government interference with private industry  Tuesday, August 11, 2009

If the govt does as good of a job running GM as they have done with the post office, in 2 years the malibu will cost $65,000, it will take 4 days to get from OKC to dallas, won't run on Sundays or holidays and will eventually be cut to only 3 wheels. Not to mention you will have to hire a teamster to drive it for you.

A word about worms.  Tuesday, August 11, 2009
I have never milked a cow so I know very little about cream, however I have done my share of fishing and somebody once told me "If you stir the worms the dead ones will rise to the top" I have since learned that the ones that dig back the hardest will do the best job. I am often accused of not being real nice and a few of my friends have said that I must be nicer if I want to get elected and my response is "thats whats wrong with this country is that no body is willing to tell the truth." Sometimes the truth hurts but that does not make it any less true.

As I tell my children "You are free to do anything you want as long as you are willing accept the consequences" We are all products of our choices and decisions. We must remember the forgotten man. If govt takes from one person to give to another then who prospers and who suffers. But if a man who prospers financially is allowed to give to those who suffer, then both prosper. The giver prospers in heart and the recipient prospers financially. I give for selfish reasons because I want more. Not more money but more "feel good". A good nights sleep earned through hard work is a good nights sleep indeed. But a good nights sleep earned by a charitable heart is the best sleep I have ever had.
